The Programme
8 Weeks of Creative Discovery
Introduction to Mixing Paint & Puddle Pours
We start at the very beginning — understanding paint consistency, how to mix your pouring medium, and choosing colour palettes. Your first technique is the Puddle Pour: layering colours directly onto your canvas to create beautiful, flowing results.
Ring Pours
Using a silicone split cup, you'll learn how to create stunning concentric ring patterns on your canvas. We cover cup placement, tilt techniques, and how to guide the paint to fill the canvas edge to edge.
Flip Cup Pours
One of the most satisfying techniques in fluid art — loading a cup with layered colours then flipping it onto the canvas for a dramatic reveal. We explore different colour combinations and how tilt and movement affect the final pattern.
Strainer Pours
Pouring paint through a kitchen strainer creates intricate, organic lacework patterns across the canvas. You'll learn how to layer colours beneath the strainer and control the spread for a truly unique result.
Dutch Pours
Dutch Pours use air — from your breath or a straw — to push and shape the paint across the canvas, creating feathered petal-like designs. We cover technique, distance, and how to create deliberate movement in your composition.
Making Cells
Cells are the magical circular formations that appear in fluid art and are the hallmark of a stunning pour. We explore silicone oil ratios, heat guns, and layering techniques to maximise cell formation in any pour style.
Combining Skills with Tools
Now that you have a toolkit of techniques, we bring them together. Using palette knives, skewers, and other tools you'll manipulate poured paint to create swipe effects, galaxies, landscapes, and more — your own signature style begins here.
Pour over Glass
We finish the course with a special technique — pouring over glass or other surfaces to create stunning translucent art pieces. The perfect final project to mark your journey and showcase everything you've learned.
