The Jolly Easel
Terms & Conditions
Please read these terms carefully before booking any event, course, or private session with The Jolly Easel. By making a booking, you confirm that you have read and agree to the terms below.
Bookings & Payment
All bookings require a non-refundable deposit of 50% at the time of booking to secure your place. The remaining balance is due no later than 48 hours before your event or session date.
For the 8-week Paint Pouring Course, full payment is required at the time of booking. This covers all materials provided throughout the course. Payment plans may be available on request — please get in touch to discuss.
Bookings are only confirmed once a deposit or full payment has been received. We recommend booking early as spaces are limited.
Cancellations & Refunds
If you need to cancel your booking, please notify us as soon as possible by email. Cancellations made more than 7 days before the event date will receive a refund of any balance paid beyond the initial deposit. The deposit itself is non-refundable.
Cancellations made within 7 days of the event date will not be eligible for a refund. However, you are welcome to transfer your place to a friend or family member at no extra charge — simply let us know their name in advance.
Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event date are non-refundable in all circumstances.
For the 8-week Paint Pouring Course, we are unable to offer refunds once the course has commenced, as materials will have already been allocated and prepared for you.
Cancellations by The Jolly Easel
We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule an event if the minimum required number of participants has not been reached. In this instance, you will be offered a full refund or the option to transfer your booking to an alternative date.
In the unlikely event that we need to cancel due to circumstances outside our control — such as illness, venue issues, or other unforeseen events — we will notify you as soon as possible and offer either a full refund or a rescheduled booking.
The Jolly Easel is not liable for any additional costs incurred as a result of cancellation, such as travel or accommodation expenses.
Age & Participation
Our events and courses are open to participants aged 16 and over. We welcome younger adults and believe everyone deserves the joy of creating — however, please be aware of the following:
Participants who are aged 16 or 17 are welcome to attend all events and courses, but will not be permitted to purchase or consume alcohol at the bar. Proof of age may be requested.
The venue operates a Challenge 25 policy at the bar. If you look under 25, you may be asked to provide valid ID. Accepted forms of ID include a passport or driving licence.
The venue may refuse service of alcohol to any participant, regardless of age, where it is deemed to be in the interest of safety or the enjoyment of other guests.
Alcohol & Conduct
A licensed bar is available at our Paint & Sip Evenings. Participants purchase their own drinks at their own discretion. Drinking alcohol is entirely optional and never required to enjoy the evening.
We ask all participants to be respectful of others in the group. The Jolly Easel is a welcoming, inclusive space. Any behaviour that is disruptive, offensive, or negatively impacts the experience of others will result in the participant being asked to leave without a refund.
We reserve the right to refuse entry or ask a participant to leave if they arrive or become intoxicated to a degree that poses a risk to themselves, other guests, or our team.
Clothing & Personal Belongings
Paint pouring is a wonderfully creative process — and it can be wonderfully messy! We strongly recommend wearing old clothing that you don't mind getting paint on. Aprons are provided, but paint may still find its way onto your clothes.
The Jolly Easel accepts no liability for damage to clothing, footwear, or personal items brought to any event or session. Participants attend at their own risk in this regard.
Please take care of your personal belongings throughout the session. We are not responsible for any loss or theft of personal items.
Health, Safety & Materials
All paints and materials used are non-toxic and suitable for use in a creative environment. However, if you have known skin sensitivities, allergies, or medical conditions that may be affected by contact with art materials, please inform us before booking.
A full list of materials used is available on request. It is your responsibility to notify us of any relevant health conditions or allergies prior to your event.
Participants with mobility requirements are welcome — please let us know when booking so we can ensure suitable arrangements are in place.
In the event of any accident or injury during a session, please notify a member of our team immediately. A first aid kit is available on site.
Your Finished Artwork
All finished artwork created during our events and courses belongs entirely to you. We encourage you to take everything home and enjoy it.
Paint & Sip Evenings include 2 finished canvases per person. If you wish to work on additional canvases during the session, a charge of £7.50 per extra canvas applies.
The 8-week Paint Pouring Course includes 2 canvases per session (14 canvases in total), plus a paint-poured glass piece completed towards the end of the course — all yours to take home.
Please note that poured pieces require drying time before they are fully cured. We'll advise you on the best way to transport your artwork safely.
Photography & Social Media
We love celebrating the creativity of our participants! By attending an event or course at The Jolly Easel, you agree that photographs may be taken during the session for use on our website and social media channels.
If you would prefer not to be photographed, please let a member of our team know at the start of the session and we will ensure you are not included in any images shared publicly.
You are warmly encouraged to take your own photos and share them on social media. We'd love to be tagged — find us as @thejollyeasel.
Limitation of Liability
The Jolly Easel takes all reasonable care to provide a safe and enjoyable experience. However, we cannot accept liability for personal injury, loss, or damage arising from participation in our events or courses, except where such liability cannot lawfully be excluded (for example, in the case of our own negligence).
Nothing in these terms seeks to exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
